Thornhill Mesivta Doubles in Size with New Land Acquisition

The Thornhill Mesivta Ohr Temimim Lubavitch, grounded in the proven “Bedford & Dean” Lubavitch yeshiva of 1940’s model, along with its ‘chinuch with love’ philosophy, continues to grow steadily.

Originally established in 2015 in a rented facility, the Mesivta quickly outgrew its space and, just four years later, purchased its current location in 2019.

Spearheaded by Rabbi Baruch Zaltzman, Rosh Mesivta and an educator with over three decades of experience, the Mesivta was founded with a clear vision: to provide the highest level of Limud HaTorah alongside a penimiyusdike chassidishe hadracha, all within an environment filled with warmth and genuine care that each student can truly feel.

“We can proudly say that over the past decade, this vision has proven not only attainable, but exceptionally effective in achieving our goals,” said Rabbi Zaltzman.

With the yearly increases in enrollment, the Yeshiva has consistently needed to expand its facilities. Following the 2022 addition of a beautiful new Zal and the 2025 expansion with a newly constructed Shiur Gimmel classroom, the Mesivta has once again outgrown its space in 2026.

With tremendous gratitude to הקב”ה and the Rebbe’s brochos, the Yeshiva is excited to announce the acquisition of the adjacent parcel of land, effectively doubling the size of its campus.

This new property will significantly enhance the Yeshiva experience. In addition to expanded outdoor space for recreation and relaxation, it includes an existing residence that will be integrated into the campus, providing greater room and comfort for students.

“What a meaningful Yom Holedes gift to the Rebbe in honor of Yud Alef Nissan, doubling the Mesivta’s learning facility,” said Rabbi Zaltzman.

In the coming months, renovations to prepare the new space for full use will take place, further strengthening the Yeshiva’s ability to serve its students.
