A thief was arrested on Thursday night after robbing a victim in Crown Heights.
The robbery occurred Wednesday evening at approximately 8:00 PM when the victim entered the Bank of America near Eastern Parkway and Kingston Avenue.
The man confronted him inside the bank, demanded money, and physically grabbed him before forcibly snatching cash from his hand and fleeing the scene.
The victim immediately alerted police who conducted an initial search, then contacted Crown Heights Shmira to report the incident.
Shmira’s investigative team immediately began working the case and successfully identified the suspect, a known perpetrator, distributing an internal alert to all volunteers. The effort paid off when a Shmira member spotted him Thursday night at approximately 9:30 PM near St. Johns Place and Kingston Avenue. Through coordinated teamwork with the NYPD, the suspect was arrested and charged with robbery, assault, and possession of narcotics.
Please be aware of your surroundings. In case of an emergency, call 911 and Shmira 24/7 at 718-221-0303

He looks insulted to be arrested. Why did they let him stand there with his arms crossed.
Hope he sits in jail. One can hope
Is this the guy that asks/sometimea harasses people to give him money by the bank?
He’ll probably be there again by tomorrow
It makes you wonder if its better to go in or stay outside a bank
