“Historic Treasures,” is presented by Rabbi Sholom Ber Schapiro, Director of the Nissan Mindel Publications (NMP), exclusively for COLlive.com.
Each program shares ‘treasures’ from the archives of Rabbi Schapiro’s father in law, Rabbi Dr. Nissan Mindel OBM, a prolific writer who served as a personal secretary of the 6th and 7th Chabad Rebbes.
The program uncovers fascinating stories, rare artifacts and precious documents from the Chabad-Lubavitch movement.
Can you post a copy of the Rebbe’s letter about conversions? To what question was the letter in response? There is a big difference between encouraging someone to convert to Judaism and allowing someone to convert. Was the Rebbe against someone converting if the person came on his own? As you know, there are halachos about treating geirim.
This video provides a very informative account of the Rebbe’s views on conversion (and how shluchim and hassidim should relate to those seeking to convert) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPrei0OsEzY
Signed, a convert to Judaism 🙂
The resolve of Ask Noah International to produce the shulchan aruch for the Noahide code that the Rebbe wanted was accomplished through the authorship of the Lubavitcher rav and accomplished talmud chacham (“mumcheh”) Rav Moshe Weiner of Jerusalem, with the participation of the Gaon and Gadol, Rav Zalman Nechemiah Goldberg. This work (3 volumes in Hebrew) is titled “(Sefer) Sheva Mitzvot HaShem.” With the translation assistance of Rabbi Yossi Schulman and others, and the full participation of Rav Weiner, the English edition was published with the title “The Divine Code,” now in the 3rd edition.
So what did the vatican write in the letter? That was the HEADLINE however you didn’t say what they wrote?
Can you please share the information with us?
thank you feter Sholom Bar Schapiro
Excellent presentation. Much needed for now and for the future. Your efforts are appreciated. It should not be considered as them using Noahide as a… Read more »
