I don’t understand the celebration before the hostages are actually released. While it’s awful to release unrepentant murderers, I agree with doing so (and hopefully giving them their appropriate punishment when they’re “free” somewhere else) because I’d want the hostages back. No matter what Israel did and does after 10/7, hamas won round 1 – they succeeded their objectives of horrible acts and getting hostages, so one does what one can to save some lives back.
