Terror Shooting In Shomron Leaves Pregnant Woman Critical

A terror shooting attack struck Highway 446 between Brochin and Feduel in the Shomron on Wednesday night, when terrorists opened fire at a vehicle, critically wounding a woman and her husband who were on their way to the hospital to deliver their baby.

Even while the husband was seriously injured, he took care of his wife until the rescue forces arrived.

MDA medics and paramedics provided medical treatment and transported a 30-year-old woman in critical condition, with gunshot wounds, and a 40-year-old man in serious condition, fully conscious, with gunshot wounds, to the Belinson Hospital. A senior MDA officer prepared a senior gynecologist in Beilinson while they were on their way to him, who successfully delivered the baby, who is in serious condition.

MDA paramedic Erez Fogel, one of the first to arrive at the scene, said:

“We left with the ambulance from the nearby settlement and quickly arrived at the scene. We saw a private vehicle with gunshot wounds on the side of the road. Inside the vehicle was the driver, a woman in her 30s who was unconscious with serious gunshot wounds. In the seat next to the driver, was a 40-year-old man who was fully conscious, who also suffered gunshot wounds. He tried to treat the injured woman next to him and tried to stop her bleeding. We removed both of them from the vehicle and provided them with medical treatment.

“We put her in an intensive care unit and evacuated her to the hospital while performing CPR in critical condition. We evacuated the man in another intensive care unit while he was fully conscious and in serious condition.”
