On the last Sunday night in October, on the quieter side of Eastern Parkway, a large group of girls gathered outside 743 Eastern Parkway for the #Teen Edition Neshamos Event.
Though there was music playing and a spray paint craft for them to enjoy, they had all gathered there for something more. These young women had come together unified with the common goal of actualizing true ‘Ahavas Yisrael’ in their lives. They had gathered to hear from Avigayl Leff LCSW, CCPT on the topic of “How to show up for your struggling friend in a healthy way.”
Avigayl, an experienced social worker and expert in family mediation, delivered a thorough, practical and interactive presentation. The girls asked many questions and finished off the session with a grounding technique, leaving them equipped to be supportive friends whilst maintaining healthy boundaries and catering to their own needs.
The most asked question by the end of the night was “when is the next one?” as everyone in the room recognized how important this presentation was in maintaining positive friendships and mental wellness during the teenage years.
