For some Shluchim, there are no perfect options for the chinuch of their children. Between long car rides, sending children far from home at a young age, all while juggling the demands of a growing family while running a Chabad House, without the support of a Jewish community, finding the right Chinuch can be overwhelming.
For one family, their son was just falling further and further behind in his learning, making success in Mesivta a distant dream. But thanks to the program at Your Torah Tutors, his education has completely transformed.
His father shared their story.
Our family is on shlichus on a college campus. The closest appropriate school for our children is an hour and a half away. We sent them to the local day school until our oldest reached fourth grade and then decided to take the leap and send them anyway, despite the distance. We knew that it would present some difficulties, both for them and for us.
Between the car ride and academic challenges, it took our kids time to adjust, especially our older son. But, Baruch Hashem, they all made noticeable progress in many areas.
At this time, our son was approaching mesivta age and was in the interviewing process at various yeshivas. We had just learned about YTT and were exploring this as an option to help our son.
Unfortunately, due to an accident in which he fractured his femur, he was out of school for months and fell farther and farther behind. Once we began YTT, we clearly witnessed great strides both in his knowledge and confidence. He loves learning with his teacher daily and continues to make tremendous progress in Mesivta.
