Who runs Aliya Girls?
Aliya Girls is run by Meir and Chaviva New, who have co-directed the center since it opened 7 years ago. Today, Aliya has a locale on top of Empire Kosher that is open daily with 10 staff members leading programs and activities.
Who is Aliya Girls geared for?
Aliya Girls is geared for any teens that are looking for an outlet, or an inviting place to relax in. These developing years can be very difficult and confusing for many teenagers. Aliya strives to be a welcoming, warm and safe center for our girls.
What happens at Aliya?
Aliya Girls has a variety of programs geared for different age groups and needs. Our center is open daily for high-school-ages girls with fresh dinner and planned activities (art, exercise, music etc). We often have specialists run workshops to benefit the girls and promote self-esteem, self-confidence, healthy relationships, and life goals. Each Yom Tov is celebrated in grand style, and we have monthly Shabbos meals that are eagerly looked forward to.
As Aliya grew, so did our girls, and we now have an older division called “Girls Loft NYC” run by Rochel and Eli Deitsch. They host a weekly dinner where they network with the girls and learn an n-depth Sicha. They run shabbos and Yom Tov meals and programs as well.
