Chabad of South Hills, Pittsburgh, directed by Shluchim Rabbi Mendy and Batya Rosenblum, recently celebrated 13 years of service to the community with a gala Bar Mitzvah event at the elegant Omni William Penn Hotel.
In attendance were over 250 members of the South Hills Jewish community, Shluchim from the surrounding areas, representatives from the UJF leadership, and family and friends of Chabad.
The evening’s honorees were Hank and Simone Karp, who received the Chesed Award, Howard and Shelly Schapiro who received the Lamplighters Award, David and Dori Oshlag, who received the Partners Award, Rick and Susan Finder, who received the JLI Eitz Chaim Award and Sidney Kushner who received the Young Leadership Award.
Participants enjoyed a sumptuous gourmet dinner and entertainment by mentalist Marc Salem.
