An unidentified package was found this morning at one of the entrances to 770.
Police have closed off the entire area for investigation, and main Brooklyn thoroughfare Eastern Parkway is closed to traffic between Kingston and Brooklyn Avenues.
A number of police and fire vehicles have arrived on the scene, and the police bomb squad has evacuated everyone from the downstairs Shul.
There are reports that the Kingston Avenue subway station will be closed down as well, and trains told to bypass the station.
Update 11:45 am: 770 and streets have been reopened. A source at Lubavitch Headquarters told COLlive: “Baruch Hashem, the excitement was for nothing. But we thank the police for being alert and keeping procedure.”
