Chayal el Chayal, an organization that provides a home away from home for lone soldiers in Israel, will show a new mini-documentary on its activities at a Fine Art Wine & Cheese tasting, Thursday, October 31 at 8 PM at the Betzalel Art Gallery, 567 Empire Blvd between Kingston & Brooklyn Avenues. The public is invited.
Mordy and Malkah Esther Botnick, founders, will greet the guests and discuss the expansion of Chayal el Chayal, which is growing by leaps and bounds.
Caring for lone soldiers and their needs will require a second center in Jerusalem. The Botnicks estimate they need to raise $50,000 to support this growth.
Lives are saved, spiritually, and souls are nurtured through the warm and caring devotion of the Botnicks.
“I’ve had tiresome weeks in the army, with stress and hardship, and Mordy’s meals have been a major source of joy, Torah, inspiration and friendship, for me and many other boys guarding Am Yisrael and Eretz Yisrael,” says Gedaliah Ort of Monsey, NY.
Chayal el Chayal has partnered with Chayenu, a weekly digest in Hebrew and English of the daily Torah studies in the parsha, the Tanya, Rambam, Sefer HaMitzvos and more, providing free copies to soldiers to keep them connected to their Yiddishkeit.
Those who cannot attend the Thursday night event can donate online at ChayalelChayal.org.
