It is common courtesy, besides being respectful & appropriate to give credit to the Rebbe for sending Rabbi Posner to Skokie. The Rebbe may not need the Kovod of being mentioned but it is the right thing to do. I think the Baal Shem Tov teaches us about this important mida when he mentions that seeing a body of water should inspire us to tell another that the Baal Shem Tov says water is a Siman Brachah.
The Rebbes message was to spread Yiddishkeit- he was NEVER one to seek Kovod and take credit – I think the Rebbe is happy that these shluchim are fulfilling the shlichus of bringing Yiddin closer to Yiddishkeit- why the negativity? Good people, clearly doing good things. I think that the Rebbe might have more agmas nefesh from the fact that you insulting a fellow Jew than from the fact that he did not get an honorable mention. Did you not know anything the Rebbe is about?

WITHOUT THE REBBE’S KOACH BEHIND EVERY SINGLE SHLIACH THERE WOULD NOT BE ANY OF THE PROJECTS THEY ARE SUCCESFUL WITH, THEIR ENTIRE SHLICHUS FOR THAT MATTER WOULD NOT HAVE ANY SUCCESS. This video reminds me of what Rashi says regarding “VA’Yovoi Amalek Va’Yilocheim Im Yisroel….” and the moshol Rashi brings about the boy on his fathers’ shoulders….I think these “boys” forgot WHO and WHAT thier “father” IS!!!!!
Maybe Hashem will have rachmones and they won’t end up like the boy in Rashi’s moshol.
Beautiful video – lots of hard work put into it. Very nice pple performing, But please – take the constructive criticism from commenter number 2! I’m sure you didn’t realize it until someone pointed it out, but it’s pretty sad that the Rebbe’s name is not even mentioned! We are just the shluchim! The Rebbe is the one who started this all. The Rebbe is the one who loves every jew so much and thats why we are all out there on shlichus! I really hope your community knows that…
don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful video. BUT, all you had to add in the begining of the video was a small clip of the rebbe and say that, “R. Menachem…… the lubavitcher rebber sent R. posner to skokie in 1982” instead you have “R. Posner came to skokie in 1982” with out credit to the rebbe!

Therefore the entire world MUST, as preparation for Rosh Hashana, read your negative thoughts, k’mo shekosuv, “Exercising free speech is a chiyuv that is doche common sense.” (Common sense? What is that?) I am sure you elected to move away from your comfort zone and dedicate your life to bringing Moshiach, and you’ve similarly inspired so many people.

The question is, was it intentional or not? Either way would tell us a lot about the people who commissioned the video.

Cutting and editing a video with prehearsed minimal clips is one thing. Speaking at the kinus would be over their heads. Even on the video, their commentary cannot be classified as eloquent.
I don’t know why you say that the Rebbe is not mentioned – Rabbi Posner says “Preparing for MOSHIACH”! Ha-rei Rebbe.

This video was obviously made for a fund-raising-dinner and not as a substitute for a chassidishe farbrengen. For that we need an article (op ed anyone?) because there certainly needs to be clarification on the major components of Chabad and their interdependency and priority (which could/would vary for each individual.)
A lot of us born into Chabad , ask the very same question. “What is Chabad” – So much is not recognizable unfamiliar and outright foreign
It was a great video and I really enjoyed it. yet I want to give a little constructive criticism. I hate to sound negative and i know that afterwards everyone will be cursing me out as chasidic fanatic. Never the less, you called this video “What is Chabad” but you never mentioned the Rebbe or showed a picture of him. You didn’t even say that its because of him that you all have this success. Or that chabad is “also” about Rebbe!
