Shoshi Blau, a 10-year-old Chabad girl from the city of Beitar Illit near Jerusalem, passed away on Tuesday, 1 Tammuz 5783.
Last week, Blau was hit by a speeding vehicle in her city and was transported to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem in critical condition.
The driver, who is an Arab, is known in the city as an aluminum contractor for building projects. Israeli police arrested him. It appears that it wasn’t a hate crime.
Blau has a couple of siblings and the family recently celebrated the wedding of one of their children. In pictures, Shoshi was seen dressed in a gown and brightly smiling at the occasion.
Her parents both lead national organizations. Her father Rabbi Tzvi Blau is the Director of the National Project for Food Security at Colel Chabad, which feeds over 32,000 families each month. Her mother Mrs. Leah Blau directs the Meonot Chaya preschool network in Israel.
The levaya was held this evening in Israel.

Baruch dayan emes. I’m so sorry to the family and friends for this unbearable loss .
What a beautiful, lichtige girl! Ad mosai?! Hashem should give much comfort and strength and Moshiach right now!
Tragedies like this could have been avoided if Beitar would give tickets for improper driving and not allow Arabs to wander the city freely. As a resident of Beitar and a member of the Chabad community of Beitar I am pained by this loss of a precious neshama
Boruch Dayan HaEmes, may you be comforted with the other mourners of Tzion and Yerushalayim. I’m so sorry. May Moshiach come today and return our loved ones to us.
