Shneur Kotlarsky, the youngest son of Rabbi Mendel and Rivky Kotlarsky of Crown Heights, passed away on Friday, Erev Shabbos Parshas Vayeira, 19 Cheshvan 5784.
He was 30.
Schneur was born in Crown Heights in 5753 (1993) and studied in Chabad schools, and lived in Crown Heights.
“He had a heart of gold and was very funny,” a relative said. “He always made everyone laugh, and he would take the shirt off his back to help another person – anytime.”
His father, together with his uncle Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, tirelessly work to support Shluchim and develop Chabad institutions around the world, and running central organizations from Lubavitch Headquarters – 770 Eastern Parkway.
This coming week, they are organizing the International Kinus Hashluchim, the annual convention of Chabad Rabbis in Brooklyn, New York, on behalf of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch.
Shneur was the manager of Kasbah Grill, formerly Deli Kasbah, a Kosher restaurant and steakhouse in New York City located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
He is survived by his parents Rabbi Mendel and Rivky Kotlarsky, his siblings Devory Kotlarsky – Crown Heights; Levi Kotlarsky – Las Vegas, Nevada; Sruly Kotlarsky – Crown Heights; Yanky Kotlarsky – Las Vegas, Nevada; Goldie Korik – Hillside, NJ; Mushky Saks – Crown Heights; nieces and nephews, uncles and aunts, and many cousins.
The levaya will be held graveside on Friday 3:00 PM near the Rebbe’s Ohel at the Old Montefiore Cemetery in Queens, NY.
The family will be sitting Shiva at 591 Montgomery Street.
