Today (Tuesday) in the Rebbe’s room, Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch and the family of Shluchim started a Sefer Torah in memory of the Kedoshim Shluchim R’ Gavriel and Rivkah Holtzberg HY”D. This Sefer Torah is one of the initiatives that Merkos announced that they will be doing in thier memory.
A few selected shluchim wrote the first words, Rabbi Ze’ev Katz and Rabbi Zalman Aaron Grossbaum from Toronto represented the Merkos Vaad, Rabbi Zalman Leib Markowitz – a Shluchim education consultant, Rabbi Yehoshua Werner – Shliach to Detroit, R’ Chaim Zaklos represented all the bochurim that have been to Mumbai on Merkos Shlichus.
The Sefer Torah is being written by sofer R’ Moshe Klein.
After the ceremony the attendees went to the Kotlarsky residence, where the sofer wrote the words for Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky and his brother Mendel since they are in aveilus and cannot do so by themselves at this time.

I am very happy that Merkoz is doing something in the memory of the holy shluchim HY”D. I am just curious why it was not open to all. Why is it a private even. But I have no complaints, just asking.
