Shlomo (Andre) Sitbon, a gifted drummer who was a proud Lubavitcher chossid and was beloved in the Jewish community in Paris, France, passed away on Wednesday, 27 Tammuz 5781.
He was 72.
Sitbon was a familiar face at many large Jewish events in Paris as a drummer in orchestras for Siyum Harambam ceremonies, gala dinners and concerts with Jewish music stars such as Mordechai Ben David, Avraham Fried and others.
An internationally renowned musician, he also accompanied some of the most famous singers and songwriters of France. Among them were Julien Clerc, Michel Berger, Véronique Sanson, France Gall, Johnny Hallyday, Santa Esmeralda and many others, the French website hassidout.org reported.
Sitbon also performed at many simches in the community, such as Bar Mitzvahs, weddings and Melave Malkas using his passion and expertise to bring joy to many. He was known for his good character, kindness and humility. Most notably, he was careful not to speak ill on people.

After he was diagnosed with cancer, doctors said he only had 4 months left to live. He went on to live for another 3 years until his tragic passing last week.
He is survived by his 5 children, as well as his brother R’ Aharon Sitbon, a Chassidic soul artist who is a resident of Beitar Illit.
