A special grant is being used as an incentive to attract counselors with educational experience to Camp Emunah.
This grant will be paid out to counselors who join Emunah’s team with at least one prior year of teaching experience.
“Our goal is to recruit the best possible group of counselors for Camp,” said NCFJE chairman, Rabbi Shea Hecht, “today’s teenagers are in an intellectual and emotional place that requires a more thoughtful and experienced touch.”
Rabbi Hecht recalled that his father, Rabbi Jacob J. Hecht obm, wrote to the Rebbe about how difficult it was to find qualified staff for the needs of Camp Emunah. The Rebbe’s written response: pay them more.
The grant is being underwritten by Hal’s New York, and will provide matching funds for payroll, effectively doubling the pay for counselors with educational experience. For more information, contact [email protected]
Rabbi Yakov Yehuda yb”mec and Rebbetzin Chave Hecht founded Camp Emunah in 1953 with the blessing and guidance of the Lubavitcher Rebbe. Emunah has the distinction of being the oldest Chabad camp and was visited by the Rebbe on two separate occasions.
