Shimon Ziman, 62, OBM

Shimon Ziman, a devoted father and husband formerly from England and more recently from Tzfas, Israel, passed away suddenly on 22 Shevat, 5785.

He was 62.

Shimon was born and bred in Johannesburg, South Africa. Despite being orphaned at a young age and facing many tribulations growing up, Shimon kept an upbeat tone, persevering despite all odds.

After his marriage to Chana (née Ives), he studied in Kolel in Crown Heights and Morristown. They lived in England for many years (London and later Manchester). More recently, they made Aliyah to the holy city of Tzfas, where this tragedy occurred.

Those who know Chana and Shimon can testify to their incredible strength and unwavering resilience, facing numerous hardships with determination, joy and faith. They created a beautiful life together, raising three wonderful children.

He leaves behind a bereaved wife, Chana, and 3 unmarried children, Rivka Baila, Chaya Mushka and Yisroel Gershon.

He is also survived by his brother, Moshe, his parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Y.L. Ives, and mourned by many heartbroken family members, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and dear friends.

Chana depended on Shimon deeply, and now faces an overwhelming loss.
