On Sunday, 7 Shvat, in the midst of a fierce winter storm, Russian Neshei held its 26th Annual Farbrengen—an evening that proved once again that no weather can stand in the way of Jewish women gathering with faith, strength, and joy.
Although the storm limited attendance and fewer women were able to come than originally expected, the turnout was nevertheless warm and impressive. Women traveled from as far as Five Towns, Brighton Beach, Flatbush, Kings Highway, Kensington and of course, CrownHeights, demonstrating true dedication and connection. Those who came filled the hall with light, enthusiasm, and heartfelt unity.
The Farbrengen featured a magnificent and elegant design by Chana Komarovsky, setting the tone for a truly elevated evening. The program included deeply inspiring speakers: Nurit Sarytchev, Leah Levin, Malky Shkolnik, Rivka Sidorov, and Yakov Sidorov, each of whom touched the audience with powerful words of faith, purpose, and inner strength.
A moving musical program followed, with soulful niggunim performed by the Clara Landsman ensemble together with Etty and Feigy Boruchov. The atmosphere rose even higher with beautiful music, heartfelt singing, and electrifying dancing led by Benshimon Music, filling the room with joy and vitality.
An especially moving element of the evening was the powerful exhibition, “Faith and Strength in the Face of Darkness.” The exhibition featured portraits and personal quotes of Jewish hostages who were held in captivity, sharing how their unwavering faith sustained them through the most terrifying and painful moments. The display deeply resonated with the audience, powerfully reinforcing the Farbrengen’s central theme—that Emuna is not abstract, but a living, sustaining force that gives strength even in the darkest times.
Miriam Ilyayev’s performance of her beautiful song ‘New Day Will Rise’ left the audience completely mesmerized. Her voice carried such emotion and power that every note resonated deeply, filling the room with hope and inspiration. Truly, a performance to remember!
The central theme of the Farbrengen was the Emuna of righteous women that brings the Geula. The highlight of the evening was the breathtaking Crown Reveal Ceremony, which left the audience visibly moved. The ceremony symbolized the revelation of the hidden, precious Emuna that lives within the heart of every Jewish woman. At the emotional climax, all the women stood together as one—one people, one heart—and proclaimed “Yechi,” affirming their conscious choice to believe in the Malchus of the Rebbe Melech HaMoshiach.
Throughout the evening, a palpable sense of unity, joy, and purpose filled the room. Guests enjoyed an exquisite and delicious menu prepared by Turk Catering, followed by an exciting game, and auction that added energy and fun to the conclusion of the program.
All the pictures were taken by Eli Belinsky Photography, screens and sound by Yossi Yechielov.
The Farbrengen was dedicated to the 21-st Yortzait of Rebbetzin Sora Levin bas HaRav Moishe Chaim, adding a deep spiritual dimension to the gathering.
In a meaningful and symbolic ending, as the program concluded, the storm outside came to a halt—the snow stopped falling. It felt like a clear message: the evening itself was a test of faith, and with Hashem’s help, it was one that was beautifully overcome.
The women left inspired, uplifted, and ready—truly ready—to greet the Geula.
We call upon our readers to stand with Russian Neshei at this critical time—by donating, you become a true partner in spreading the light of Chassidus, awakening Emuna, and empowering Russian-speaking Jewish women to bring more light, strength, and Geula into our world!
