Rogers Park, the Chassidic folk-rock duo of Yosef Peysin and Mordy Kurtz has released a new single, “Yoseph’s Song,”
Yoseph had every reason to be angry with his brothers. He let go because he saw that, for a non-understandable reason, G-d chose this to be his journey.
His brothers’ choice to wrong him was between them and G-d.
Yoseph Hatzadik forgave his brothers, recognizing that their actions were part of Hashem’s plan to bring him to MItzrayim so he can end up saving them during famine. The song’s chorus reflects this message:
You’re all that’s left for me… Let’s all sing and dance again, and we’ll walk outta’ here as one.”
The song draws from the story of Yoseph Hatzadik and the Alter Rebbe’s teaching in Tanya, Chapter 25: “Everything comes from Hashem. If someone wrongs me, that is between them and G-d. I cannot be angry because Hashem has decreed this for my life.”
Produced by Matt Dougherty and filmed by Mendel Katz, “Yoseph’s Song” combines meaningful lyrics with Rogers Park’s unique sound.
