Over the eight days of Chanukah, the tireless and dedicated Released Time instructors visited their students in their homes, bringing the joy and beauty of Chanukah to each one of their families.
They lit the Menorah with the children and their families, played dreidle and distributed doughnuts and Chanukah gelt.
Additionally, they put up Mezuzos in those homes that didn?t have one yet.
These visits forged a bond with the families of the released time children and their instructors that will continue to blossom and bear fruit.
These visits touched each one of the families, as one parent so aptly put it: “You made our holiday!”
On Wednesday of Chanukah, in addition to the regular Released Time classes, children of several schools in Queens were treated to a special trip to the Queens Chanukah Experience, arranged by Rabbi Yerachmiel and Chanie Zalmanov, the local Shluchim.
The children decorated their own wooden dreidles, made real olive oil using an olive oil press, and played many Chanukah games including Chanukah connect four and Chanukah tic tac toe.
