In less than two months thousands of Chabad rebbetzins will come in to Crown Heights to reconnect and recharge for the year ahead at the annual International Kinus Hashluchos.
Registration for the February 2-8, 2010 covention will take place at the Jewish Children’s Museum (JCM), instead of where it usually takes place in Oholei Torah.
The JCM is a more central and convenient location, organizers said. In addition, it offers more space for everyone to register as quickly and smoothly as possible.
As an important part of the Kinus, shluchos add their names to a Pan Klali general letter to the Ohel which unifies the shluchos with each other and the Rebbe.
Complete with workshops, farbrengens, delicious meals and general sessions, the highlight of the convention is the Gala Banquet at the New Tork Hilton with its celebrated Roll Call of Shluchos all over the world.
The weekend of the Kinus is famous for its exercise opportunities; getting to and from sessions, visiting friends and family, shopping… for one short weekend, that’s quite a bit of walking.
For those of who prefer a more comfortable method of transportation, the Kinus organizers have arranged busing to and from sessions.
Buses will pick up participants at several locations around Crown Heights. Stay tuned for shuttle schedules and information.
This year, an unprecedented workshop at the Kinus will feature a collection of horaos that the Rebbe gave to shluchos on the topic of Chinuch.
the women of crown heights are most welcome to participate in the oneg shabbos at oholei torah on friday night. at the oneg shabbos the shluchos and the locals have a chance to be together and draw inspiration from each other.
