Rabbi Pinny and Gitty Andusier are not your typical shluchim – and their new 6.5 acre campus is one of the most unique Chabad Centers in the world! For the first time ever, they are launching a 72 hour capital campaign and need your help!
After a unique and life changing blessing from the Rebbe 31 years ago, Rabbi Pinny and Gitty moved to Florida to be trailblazing shluchim, opening Chabad of Southwest Broward (SWB) in Cooper City, Florida.
Though operating out of a small modest modular trailer for 30 years, the Andrusiers established a beautiful community in Cooper City and became famous for organizing many of the large scale Jewish events that take place in South Florida.
With incredible Divine Providence, on the Rebbe’s Birthday – Yud Alef Nissan 5780 – the neighboring 6.5 acre shuttered rehab center inquired if Chabad would be interested in purchasing their medical facility before they placed it on the open market.
Realizing the infinite potential the property offered, with 5 existing buildings, a panoramic lake and a refreshing swimming pool, Rabbi Pinny and Gitty jumped at the opportunity and overcame many obstacles to acquire the gorgeous property.
Chabad moved onto the property 15 months ago and renovations began immediately. The once neglected campus is now a bustling site of educational programs and community events. Chabad SWB has launched an array of programs that are helping individuals and saving lives way beyond the borders of its campus in Cooper City.
TO NAME A FEW:
-TAG Academy – a Yeshiva without Labels: Nearly 40 students enrolled for 2022 and 60 students are expected in 2023. Most of these teens are struggling to stay in the fold of Judaism. Under the leadership of Zalmy Raksin, Aizik Chanin and Rabbi Pinny, TAG is BH bringing back the spark and joy of Yiddishkeit to these boys. We are turning their lives around with a personalized incentive-based Jewish education and experience, providing them a unique opportunity to finally SOAR!
– Mikvah for women and men: Currently, no mikvah exists within walking distance of the families in Cooper City and its surrounding communities. Our mikvah will make it possible for families to observe the mitzvah of family purity by enabling women to come to mikvah any night of the week. The permits have been acquired and construction is imminent.
– Sunshine Circle: Mrs. Liba Andrusier directs Sunshine Circle, South Florida’s leading social service provider of food, assistance and care for the elderly, holocaust survivors and homeless.
– Hebrew school Chabad has run a weekly Hebrew school program and Jewish youth group for families in the region for over three decades, bringing Judaism into the lives of hundreds of children and teenagers who would otherwise not receive a Jewish education. Since moving onto the new campus, Hebrew school and C-Teen, directed by Rabbi Adi and Malky Goodman, has seen unprecedented enrollment.
– Daily Services, Shabbat Minyan & Torah Classes have all grown tenfold.
– Chabad’s Women’s Circle, headed by Rebbetzins Gitty Andrusier and Devora Hurwitz, offers exciting and inspiring monthly events that are always very well attended.
– State-of-the-art preschool: With all the local Jewish preschools totally full, the demand for a new preschool is overwhelming. Rabbi Tzvi and Chana Esther Freund are moving this summer to Cooper City to direct the newly-constructed state-of-the-art preschool.
– Homeless prevention program: The campus’ former ICU rehab building has been gutted, renovated, and converted into beautiful rooms and spacious suites. Working with the Jewish Federation, Chabad provides dignified transient housing for families in need of shelter and three daily nutritional meals. Job placement, case workers, and counseling is provided as well. Currently, there are several families living at the retreat who had to flee war ravaged Ukraine.
– Agam Kosher Retreat: Agam offers 17 remodeled suites for families and groups to enjoy shabbatons, special occasions, simchas, reunions, and retreats. The retreat is a place where relationships are nurtured and connections are strengthened.
– Community after-school program: Launching August 2022.
– Lakefront Sanctuary and Wedding Hall – Coming soon!
As you see, Chabad of SW Broward is permanently impacting thousands of Jewish lives … and this is only the beginning. You can see their Incredible Growth. You can imagine the Infinite Potential. This is your moment to make an Impact.
