In light of recent events and the heightened risk for Coronavirus reinfection, the Gedalia Society and Dr. Eli Rosen have released guidelines which must be followed for all those who wish to visit the community during the Tishrei month.
The guidelines have been approved by Crown Heights Beis Din Rabbis Rabbi Avrohom Osdoba and Rabbi Yosef Braun.
The guidelines are as follows:
26 Menachem Av, 5780
Visitors should only come to Crown Heights for Tishrei if they have proof that they have been previously ill with the virus.
Only the following will be acceptable:
Positive viral test (dated more than 10 days prior to arriving in Crown Heights) OR positive antibodies, as per lab reports in visitor’s name.
For Tishrei purposes, one who has not had the virus should not visit Crown Heights. Quarantine, either in Eretz Yisroel, NYC, or elsewhere, will NOT be an option. The above guidelines are in addition to local health mandates applicable while in New York, and are subject to change at any time.
-The Gedaliah Society, in conjunction with Dr. Rosen
—
We hereby confirm once again what we have written in the past not to come here unless following the conditions prescribed by the local doctors as above.
Horav Avrohom Osdoba
Horav Yosef Braun

Do you think people are actually gonna listen? How can they possibly enforce this?
This help for spreading more awareness
Seriously!! And who will be checking each and every one of the hundreds of guests…and who will be asking them to leave when they are here….. It will be more like thousands of guests. Hashem yishmor
The Rabonim are not baby sitters, and we are not babies. They shouldn’t need to “enforce”
Are seniors that tested negative for Virus , and negative for antibodies allowed to daven tishrei in 770 ?
Can doctors make suggestion what to do for rosh hashana and yom kipar and Mikva for erev yom kipar
what about chas vsholom potential re-infection like we’ve seen by some
This is wrong! Either do not let any visitors or let everyone! Deciding who can and who can not is not the right thing! I was and am very careful to always wear mask and have avoided the virus so I can not come visit my family?!?! But my nextdoor neighbor who flaunted all the rules of doctors government and Rabbonim can come!?!?! THIS IS WRONG!!!! Rabbonim please reconsider if your worried tell no one to come or tell everyone to wear a mask when in public! Dr Rosen is telling everyone to wear masks and at the same time… Read more »
And smarter the Rabbanim…
This isn’t about punishing anyone, it’s about keeping you and others safe. If someone has antibodies they are at less risk of being contagious
No one should come to CH
The guidelines are not a matter of punishment or reward, it’s logic is based on safety, people who have anti bodies are unlikely to infect the remainder of our community who are not immuned, were very proud that you didn’t get it and we’re cautious, but the system is not rewarding you if you are a threat to safety.
its not a punishment! its common sense! life is not always fair…
What is their position on out of town yeshivas in virus hotspots that insist on sending the students back to Crown Heights for Yom Kippur/ Sukkos? Can they tell the schools NOT to send the students home and, as inconvenient as it may be, they need to keep them there.
The test doesnt shows for the past few months if u have antibodies. Also not every body showed if he had the virus.
Get luck getting people to listen :(.
who will enforce this? Just say no one should come! People can have a negative antibody test and still be immune since there are 2 other types of immunity not being tested for! This does not follow what is known medically about immunity. There is something called innate immunity which the antibody test isnt testing for. Antibodies to covid seem to last only 3 months but the person can still be immune. Why dont you enforce mask wearing and social distancing which doesnt exist in 770. Why not have masks and hand sanitizer available in 770. I am a nurse… Read more »
So here, ppl buy and walk with sanitizer everywhere. Y ppl shouldnt come, Bc in 770 there r no masks?! So ppl should buy and wear. Tishrei is tishrei, ppl needs air for the whole year
I don’t know what everyone’s complaining about, the Rabonim and doctors are trying really hard to keep everyone safe. Just because you don’t get it doesn’t mean that it’s not fair, rabonim have a higher intellect level than most people that makes them able to set down rules on a community at large. We should be thankful that we have such people that spend their days protecting us !! These complaints literally sound like the yidden in the midbar!
Everyone should stay right where they are! I cant believe this!!
insane!
Nobody will really listen, there are many people who had been sick with Corona and have no antibodies, there have many people that were not sick but somehow have antibodies, and there are- I’m sure many ppl that where not sick and don’t have antibodies but may very well be immune, We still don’t know much about this virus. So there will be many people in crown heights and 770 just like there is now (not social distancing and not wearing masks, there is a limit to How long a young person could go on like that) So… how about… Read more »
should maybe not do it this year
Just like every year — unless we can prevent it in advance — there will be, r”l, an influx of uninvited ones — that is, people who will “just show up” with no prearranged place to stay. It is not enough to merely say “Refuse to have guests,” (though that IS an important PART of a strategy to include here!), b/c on erev Yom Tov we will then basically have a bunch of homeless people in our midst who really belong in quarantine, not in Crown Heights. THEN what? Having this stronger, clearer declaration from the Rabbonim and the Doctors… Read more »
i dont agree with that. ppl that r coming this year wont come WITHOUT knowing where they are sleeping.
every person that will come is coming AFTER he got premission from his/her mashpia and no one will tell ppl to travel without aranging plave to sleep.
ppl rnt that foolish…..we all live in places that they need to be more carefull about the virus.
and i think, and wish- that no guest and ch person will be affected in a way that it will make his tishrei less happy.
all will b good bH
When Florida asked people not to come they were not listened to and they were told that they were coming anyways and did not care what people thought because they believed they had a right to come and were not interested in giving up their plans. So while your idea to ask Florida Rabonim for advice is admirable no one listened to Florida Rabomin and people even went so far as to yell at Rabonim that they were wrong. Please do your research before writing what happened in another state because Florida was not successful in keeping people out and… Read more »
YOU DONT WANT THE CHINA VIRUS? THEN VOTE TRUMP 2020!
BIDEN AND HARRIS (OBAMA) KOWTOWS TO CHINA AND WILL DECIMATE THE ECONOMY AND REVERSE THE DECISIONS OUR PRESIDENT HAS MADE FOR ISRAEL!
You are telling us about reinfection again and again, and now you actually stating that someone who had the virus is immune from having it again and that’s why he can come visit CH without 14 days quarantine. So, me, as a CH resident, can not go for a vacation in Florida or CA without 14 days quarantine when I am back, even though I already had the virus long time ago, because there’s a possibility of re infection (and because I can’t afford to stay home for 2 more weeks so I can’t even think of traveling – according… Read more »
That they should be informed clearly that THIS year is different and they shouldn’t
come to C.H. Hashem knows our ruchnius is special this year and appreciates
us davenning whever we are – all in the name of safety for C.H. We must
