much more than reported

I am aware of more cases than this article reports in at least 2 of the bungalow colonies listed. People are not being completely honest….scares me to think of what will happen when school starts and people have a motivation to hide the fact that they or their kids are sick.

Thank you

I guess the immunocompromised and the elderly don’t count? What’s that supposed to mean?
And is surviving with debilitating lifelong effects like many young people I know acceptable to you as well?

No one said that.

What percentage of the population is elderly or immunocompromised? We should protect those people and allow the rest to go on with their lives. Lockdowns have costs, too, you know.

Have the “debilitating life effects” been proven, or are they just theories?

You are too much

Yes the debilitating life effects have unfortunately been proven. Your theories revolve around your selfishness…you you and you-that’s all you care about.Wow and here we are at Elul…..vehamayven yaven

Most survive except all those that didn’t. Like on the front lines in Yom Kippur War, most soldiers lives…so it’s no big deal except for the thousands that didn’t. In fact, most world jews survived WW2 except the 6 million that didn’t. To you, that makes sense?!

You can get it thru speakwithanMD.com
$60 consultation fee, then the HCQ and zinc are sent in the mail. I don’t know what the cost of the meds are but shouldn’t be much.

People are selfish and irresponsible and don’t quarantine

and then what?
August 17, 2020 5:29 pm

is anyone sick? who cares what they test for, everyone tests positive at this point

not true
August 17, 2020 6:01 pm

its very selfish of anyone who is dishonest. it can be dangerous to the elderly and weak people. Its not true that everyone tested positive at this point, cuz i myself didn’t get it and live nearby in ch, and I know many other people nearby or in ch that still have not gotten it yet! So its very selfish for people to say “oh EVERYONE got it already, so I don’t need to be careful!” Don’t think about your own pleasures, think about other peoples lives who are at risk!

What about travelers??
August 17, 2020 6:13 pm

There are people who traveled out of the country, and they clearly did NOT self-quarantine upon return to the U.S., it appears! (Otherwise, how could they be infecting other people at the bungalow colony now???) But this would be a pretty fast spread of COVID-19, right? Chof Av was just a week ago: doesn’t the incubation, after spreading it, generally take longer? I only hope that no one in this latest outbreak actually gets very sick! This is a lesson to all who plan to host orchim in Crown Heights for Tishrei! I, for one, wish the Tishrei orchim would… Read more »

Indeed! There are American young people (one being my child) who were similarly disappointed when their Birthright trips to Israel were cancelled this summer.

BUT no one tried to rationalize that they should be allowed to go anyway, saying, “Israel is the home to all Jews! They shouldn’t be kept from coming to their homeland! Hashem would have wanted them to still come!”

Similarly, this year (ONLY this year, please Hashem!) is different concerning travelers to Crown Heights.

ORCHIM: Stay home this year, we BEG YOU! And local families, please don’t go against this!

Thank you.

Why should they stay home when our own people are so irresponsible and cavalier about getting people sick? They will invite them in with open arms as disease is spread in our community….

Being honest and letting anyone you came in contact with can prevent a death!! We need to be vigilant so that people At risk can speak to their health care provider to know the precautions they need to take.
Bh most ppl are getting it mildly but we must protect our community. Chassidim en mishpacha

It’s a health hazard for you to wear a mask. It strains your oxygen intake hence the headache

Please realize, the attitude of “everyone’s done with COVID” in CH is true for the people you see on the street, the people who are home, nervous, cautious you don’t know about. And there are plenty. Please be mindful

Guess what, I tested negative too twice and I never got sick all this time, because I have been so careful and mostly stay inside, and I have no antibodies. At least one-third of people in Crown Heights have not had it. And we are anxious about the people who roam around, going into stores without a mask, some of them are visitors coming to CH from hotspots out of state, some of them attended simchas with guests from out of state from states where they have a massive surge of coronavirus. Please show some responsibility. we were told not to make weddings or show up why are u all here ???

August 17, 2020 7:42 pm

We should have a list of who has been there so we know not to come in contact. I personally know one family who never had covid and spent the past month there but just came back to CH and isn’t telling anyone they were exposed.

The truth about people comes out during times like these. The selfishness and real nature that is hidden under pleasantries. Now you see the people who are respectful and caring and truly kind and selfless…and then unfortunately you see the opposite – those who care more about having a good time and looking good then protecting others lives.
