Rabbis Fly For Bar Mitzvah

Beit Chabad Itaim in Sao Paulo, Brazil had a very special Chanuka this year.

Following a 20 year tradition, a big and beautiful Menorah was placed at the Iguatemi Shopping Mall, the country’s most prestigious mall.

Monday night, an amazing party for the alumni of Birthright, in a joint venture with the Chabad Itaim youth program was held, where more than 1500 young boys and girls were able to enjoy Jewish company in a warm Chanuka atmosphere, with the presence of birthright vice president Ada Spitzer.

On Wednesday night, a Siyum Sefer Torah was held, donated by the Kryss family in honor of the Bar Mitzvah of their son Moris.

The Torah was welcomed into the Shul with great celebration the next morning at the Bar Mitzvah.

The celebration continued with a special inspiring Shabbos together with distinguished guests that arrived for the Bar Mitzvah.

Guests included Israel’s Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger, French-Israeli Rabbi David Pinto of the well-known rabbinical family and Rabbi Mordechai Rottenberg, head of the Beth Din Zedek of Paris.

Also present was Australian kabbalist Rabbi Laibl Wolff, Colel Chabad Director Rabbi Sholom Duchman, Rabbi Mendel Kotlarsky of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch and Rabbi Baruch Kaplan.

Flying in from Israel were Haifa Shliach Rabbi Leibel Schildkraut, Chevron activist and Knesset candidate Rabbi Hillel Horowitz and Rebbetzin Chana Henkin, head of Nishmat women’s study center in Jerusalem.

The distinguished guests spent Shabbos with the community, praising their commitment to Jewish identity and continuity and supporting the work of Schildkraut and fellow Shluchim Rabbi Dovid Tamezgi and Rabbi Shmuli Schildkraut.
