Rabbi Shea Hecht, community activist and Chairman of the NCFJE, has endorsed Menachem Raitport for Congress for the 9th Congressional District in the upcoming election.
Raitport, a resident of Crown Heights, is running for US House of Representatives NY-9th Congressional District. This includes the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Brownsville, Crown Heights, Flatbush, Gerritsen Beach, Kensington, Prospect Heights, Marine Park, Midwood, Sheepshead Bay, Marine Park, Prospect Lefferts Gardens and Prospect Park, with over 700,000 people. He is running on the Conservative Party line against Democrat incumbent Yvette Clarke, who has held the office since 2013.
In a public letter, Rabbi Hecht writes:
I come from a family of Askanim, and a family that has been involved in politics for many, many years. I reach out to our community to say that we have an opportunity that we did not have in the past, and that is to vote for someone who understands our values, understands our needs, and will fight for us in Congress.
Please go out and vote on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, and vote for Menachem Raitport on the conservative line for Congress for the 9th Congressional District.
I thank you, and the community thanks you for helping them by getting the right man in for the job.
Sincerely,
Rabbi Shea Hecht
