Rav Blumenfeld z”l was involved with his fellow classmate rav Binyomin Serebransky sh”y in initiating the limud Harambam as a talmid shaliach in lubavich yeshiva at Casablanca on the year 5784. The Rebbe then used the idea to start the Rambam campaign.

When I sat at the table on erev Shabbos I noticed an unusual bright, pleasant light. I thought it resembled what is described in a Baal Shem Tov story as the moment when the gates of Gan Eden open up to let in a very special neshama. Motzaei Shabbos I received the news. Rav Shneur Zalman, “Uri” Blumenfeld had completed his shlichus. He arrived in Peru in 1987, when I was 16 years old. I still remember the first melaveh malka with him, when he was staying in a hotel with his newly wed wife 4 blocks away from the… Read more »

Familia Blumenfeld. Mis sinceras condolencias rabino uri persona de gran ejemplo a seguir.

We could not communicate with anyone there. I remember calling Rabbi Blumenfeld and he immediately took care of it. Flew to Ecuador and brought to New York the body and returned back to Peru the same day. This is one of his mitzvas among many more. Nothing was complicated Rabbi Blumenfeld zl when needed, acted without trepidation. Let his memory be a blessing. Yehi… Read more »
