Rabbi Manis Friedman, YouTube’s favorite rabbi and a world-renowned lecturer, published his first Hebrew book in Israel.
“Lo Bikashti Lavo Laolam” (“I Didn’t Ask To Be Born”) is a collection of revolutionary articles discussing the purpose of life, and the meaning behind the creation of mankind. The book brings the rabbi’s Intelligent, humorous and groundbreaking ideas to Hebrew speaking audiences in a clear and approachable language, and is expected to inspire religious and secular Israelis as one.
The book was written by Dr. Elad Ben Elul, an anthropologist who discovered rabbi Friedman’s YouTube lectures while conducting his phd Fieldwork in Africa. Dr Ben Elul curated, edited and translated selected materials from the rabbi’s YouTube channel but also cited them with a variety of chassidic and talmudic sources.
The book’s biggest contribution is by clearly explaining that God in fact needs us and our mitzvot in order to fulfil his inner desire and bring the world to its perfection. This radical suggestion changes how we look at issues such as the purpose of eating, the meaning of marriage, the origin of evil and the misconception of religion.
The book is available for purchase in Israel through Yediot Sfarim’s websiteץ
American readers can order the book on Amazon.

This Rabbi Manis is awsome. Enough said.
I love the man and I’m thankful to God for bestowing tremendous wisdom upon this exceptional Jew.
I look forward to standing right beside him as we’re on the frontline greeting Moshiach. May it happen NOW.
Amen.
L’chaim to Rabbi Manis and to all those whose lives are being improved as a result of his teachings.
