Some 600 members of the Jewish community in France and guests attended the annual gala dinner of Chabad of Vincennes and S. Mande, France, directed by Rabbi Yossef Taieb.
The scheduled guest speaker was Rabbi Leibel Groner, the long-time secretary of the Lubavitcher Rebbe and who has been in close contact with the community in the eastern suburbs of Paris.
Unable to travel because of personal reasons, Rabbi Groner recorded a special message to be presented at the event and asked the Crown Heights community activist R’ Eli Slavin to represent him there.
In his message, Rabbi Groner encouraged the gathered to continue in their support of the work of Rabbi Taieb, and the assisting in the growth of the Rebbe’s institutions.
Rabbi Taieb, who is also the Av Bais Din of Sholom V’tzedek, thanked all the members of the Chabad community and its supporters.
Mr. Batush, the president of the community, emceed the evening.
