Rabbi Dovid (Daniel) Uzan, a longtime Shliach in Paris, France, passed away on Shabbos, 4 Adar, 5783.
Rabbi Uzan served as a dedicated Shliach in Paris for over 50 years, and was part of what was known as ‘the group’, who founded and directed the Chabad Centers under Bais Lubavitch in Paris from its early days. He was one of a group who selflessly led what was known as the ‘Jewish French Revolution,’ the Jewish resurgence in the country.
He is survived by his wife, Marta Uzan, who serves as the director of the Bais Chaya Mushka Preschool in Paris, and children, Menachem Mendel, Levi Yitzchok, Shterna Sara, Chana, Devorah, Esther Hadassah, Perla and Menucha Rochel.
The Levaya will take place today, Sunday, leaving from Paris to burial in Israel.
The levaya in Israel will take place on Monday at 10 am at Shamgar Funeral home with burial in the Chabad section on Har Hazeisim.
Baruch Dayan Ha’emes.
