משיח נאו!
Ad mosai! He wore the shtreimel because it made the Rebbe happy.
Can you tell more about that?
Saw a video clip of him sitting in front of 770 telling this – that he once walked by the rebbe (dollars?) wearing the shtreimel (purim?) [and interesting that his name is mordechai] and the rebbe flashed a big smile, and mordechai a’h said, while patting himself on the back, that at least that he accomplished that – he made the rebbe smile. would be maybe cool if that was written on his gravestone, since he seemed to wear that accomplishment proudly.
How or why he understood that was the hat what made the Rebbe smile?
Because the rebbe look at the shtreimel

I would see him often early mornings 770, learning or tehilim, he was always happy and exuded peacefulness. It seemed like very recently I saw him, suprised not more description of him here, and wondering what happened, he seemed in good health ?!?!
“דודי ירד לגנו ללקוט שושנים”
ה’ so to speak went rose picking.
Untill when will we all not be;
“יוצא מיט א קרעכץ” in the loshon of the Fridiker Rebbe.
Really sweet person always had something nice to say
A precious soul in a world of absolute confusion. How sad.
Who really knows the loftiness of who he really was.
An oximoron to be known.
BD”H. May his spirit and loftiness bring a yeshua to us all. Till the ultimate redemption with Mashiach to be revealed.
I just gave him a lift in CH a couple of days ago. He looked healthy and spoke like someone with a clear mind. This is totally unexpected.
he,was,a,sweet,man
A truly special neshama
When he got married he stayed in our house for short period he and his wife where so happy and I always admired how they both kept that happiness for all these years
So sad such a young man
Yehei zichroi bourech
May we always remember him smiling down at us
He should be a meilitz yosher for his wife and family and for all of klal yisroel
Amen
I’ve seen him many times over decades in 770, at simchos, as a house guest… and my experience of him was, though he had an unusual air about him, he was always of positive spirit, with a twinkle in his eye, though it seemed his experiences might have made seemingly stronger men sad and depressed. And his passing is certainly a shock, making me wonder how/why, but we don’t really know much about anything, do we. May his family remember him fondly.
We lost a very great man!
ברוך דיין האמת
He had a truly refined air to him.
I had the zchus of serving him a cup of coffee or two during my time at Chocolatte.

Reb Mordechai, whom I was acquainted with through several encounters, was a very sweet and eidel man who definitely had his share of hardships later in life. His personal life was strained and certainly gave him tzaros, but he kept a serene exterior nevertheless. I attempted to help him in bureaucratic issues for him, so I learned some of those inner issues he might not have shared with others. Yes,I believe he did have a very lofty soul

He looked young and peaceful and looked 52, if that, not 72. But he was 72. Reminds me of my great uncle who went into the front door of a building to daven for the omud one day (also in his early 70s) and didn’t make it through the second. Hashem took him peacefully. We must cherish and use out every day. דודי ירד ללקוט was always common. May all live to חיים נצחיים but cherish and use out every minute! He used out every moment. Not surprising that he had the same peaceful aliyah. May he be blessed. May… Read more »
I knew him for many years. I met him man years ago at a retreat with R. Shlomo Carlbach among others R. Dovid Din. A very nice and caring person. Always above his personal challenges. Totally suprised as I recently saw him in 770 and he appeared healthy as always. May he be a z’chus magen aleyinu for all of us. Moshiach Now!
