A statement from the family of Rabbi Aaron Leizer Ceitlin OBM, the beloved Shliach and Mashpia from Tzfas who passed away this year at the age of 62:
While our family is still reeling from our tragic loss, we want to try to express our heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming achdus and support during this harrowing period.
!?!מי כעמך ישראל How can we find the right words to thank you all? We cannot.
From all corners of the world people rallied, gave of themselves b’lev ubenefesh in so many ways. “Just tell us what you need,” we kept hearing over and over again. And you always came through, above and beyond, quickly and efficiently.
We are in awe by everyone’s non-stop dedication right from the beginning – the total involvement with the medical care, fundraising/contributing to avoid any financial worries, the months of unbelievable hospitality, the long hours of transportation to and from the hospital, the constant meals, special healthy foods and juices for Aaron Leizer, visiting and being with him, the devotion of the Floridians, the farbrengens, the davening… and the list goes on.
You did everything you could to raise his spirits, to make him as comfortable as possible. Yes, Hashem runs the world and what happens is preordained from above. Still, feeling that (through you) the utmost was done for Aaron Leizer eases, somewhat, the searing pain that has become our constant companion.
You made Aaron Leizer your priority. He felt it and we felt it! Every single deed was recognized, is deeply appreciated and will always be remembered. He kept remarking how good everyone is to him. And it was all done with so much love and devotion. We choke up when thinking of all your kindness, your sincerity, your selflessness.
חסידים איין משפחה – you didn’t stop! Even now, you still continue to care for Aaron Leizer’s family and his shlichus which is so dear to him. This is true Ahavas Yisroel!
We are so touched that you were Menachem Ovel from far and near, flying in, driving in, calling from all over the world, sharing stories, thoughtfully sending beautiful platters and meals, organizing the food and the kitchen etc. We never felt alone. And we still feel that we’re all in this together.
It is so comforting to hear about the hakhels, the learning, the hachlotos and all that is being done l’iluy nishmosoi.
While it is impacting AAaron Leizer’s neshomo on high, we imagine he is shepping much nachas. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! It means so much to us.
Although we don’t want to risk leaving anyone out by acknowledging you all by name (the list is long), we do want to mention how fortunate Crown Heights is to have Dr. Eli Rosen, a real Rofeh Yedid, who was there for Aaron Leizer at all hours. This feeling of security is priceless.
We wish you with all our heart that Hashem should shower you all with brochos עד בלי די and always grant you everything you want and need, in all areas, בטוב הנראה והנגלה.
Let us always treat one another with true Ahavas Yisroel, as close family. Ashreinu Mah Tov Chelkeinu! Moshiach Now!
With immense gratitude,
The Ceitlin Family

this family is one of the few families who are real and that we can look up to. Aron Leizer o”h taught us how to do for others so we learned from him how to do for him and we dont need thanks. He is missed alot.
It was our privilege to help Rabbi Ceitlin in any way possible. He gave of himself constantly without asking for anything in return. May his neshoma have an Aliyah.
You are the best!! I’m sure I speak for all those that helped!! We really really cared then and we really really continue to care!
Rabbi Ceitlin will forever be engraved in our hearts and our minds!!
Still can’t believe Rabbi Ceitlin is not here. He is so alive. He gave so much to so many, always tried to accomodate – it’s only natural and right that people should give to him. If only everyone would have that same Hakoras Hatov…

Beautiful!! He was beyond description! The entire chabad world felt they owned him!! I know the continued learning and peulos in his memory is a great comfort to the family
Beautiful letter! It is warming to witness such closeness. I know that so many people feel that with Rabbi Ceitlin’s passing, they lost a close, caring friend – like a family member. I wish the family strength to go on and Rabbi Ceitlin should have an aliya to the highest place possible.
