R’ Nissin Moskovitz, 86, OBM

R’ Nissin Moskovitz, who survived the Holocaust and raised a frum family in Caracas, Venezuela, passed away on Wednesday, Cheshvan 15, 5776.

He was 86.

Born in Chust, Hungary, R’ Moskovitz had his bar Mitzvah in Auschwitz concentration camp.

After surviving the Holocaust, he emigrated to Caracas, where he was one of the early founding members of the Jewish community.

He raised a frum family there, later becoming a regular member at the local Chabad house. He was also a member of the Caracas Chevra Kadisha for 30 years.

In recent years he was a resident of Givat Shmuel, Israel.

He is survived by his wife, Ada and children Edith Kleiner of Miami, Syma Farache of Caracas, Rabbi Moishe Moskovitz – Shliach in Kharkov Ukraine, and Avi Moskovitz from Givat Shmuel, Israel.

The funeral took place in Israel.

The family is sitting Shiva at Yoni Netanyahu 28, Apt 9, Givat Shmuel.
