R’ Moshe Khussid, a Chossid from Oak Park, MI, passed away on Friday, Erev Rosh Hashana, 5783.
He was 76.
R’ Moshe was a former famous Theater Director in Russia, who became a Lubavitcher Chossid and emigrated to the United States.
Upon becoming frum he channeled his talents and produced the famous Purim video “The Lot.”
He was active with the FREE Organization for Russian Jews in Detroit, bringing Jews closer to their heritage. He gave weekly Shiurim and hosted many events.
He is survived by his wife Talya and children Leah Gotzel – Kishinev, Moldova, Chana Liba Braun, Brooklyn, NY, and Yechiel Khussid.

I was a bochur on shlichus 1996 in St Petersburg, Lenigrad, working for rabbi mendel pewzner. One night in the month of adar a guy walks into shul and tells me in Russian he wants to be frum. Between my english/Russian we spoke for an hour then he left. We thought that’s it, we will never hear from this guy again. The next day he shows up again with more questions about yiddeshkeit.
