Levi Lewin, a young bochur learning in the Tzeirei Hashluchim Yeshiva in Tzfas, Israel, passed away suddenly on Tzom Gedalya, 3 Tishrei, 5784.
He was 16.
Levi was the son of Rabbi Dovid and Devorah Leah Lewin, Shluchim in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada.
He passed away from complications related to an existing medical condition.
Levi was known as a special, serious, and studious bochur.
He loved to learn, and would study for many long hours without a break. He was very genuine in his Chassidishkeit, and he was interested in learning about every subject. He had amazing general knowledge in Yiddishkeit.
Levi was also a great friends to his peers, helping other students in their studies, moving from one to another of those who needed help.
“He always had a smile on his face,” a member of the Yeshiva Hanhalla told COLlive. “He had a special Chayus in Ahavas Yisroel, and a good relationship with all types of people.
He loved his friends, who also loved him.”
His passing has left a devastated family, community and Yeshiva.
“While these praises can be said about many bochurim, every word is true about Levi,” the Madrichim of the Yeshiva added.
He is survived by his parents, Rabbi Dovid and Devorah Leah Lewin, and siblings.

from a classmate
My son said he was the biggest Masmid and the most gentle neshomo loved by every single bochur. The yeshiva is devastated by this tragedy and we can’t stop crying. It is clear that his extremely special neshomo was already so perfected that his shluchis on earth was so limited.
This is terrible I can’t stand this anymore
So sorry to his friends and talmidim that are going thorough this loss. May Hashem comfort you and give you the koach to continue to do your holy mitzvos in his zchus.
May Hashem give the family, friends, his community on Shlichus and the entire Yeshiva, strength and comfort and Moshiach please Hashem right now!!! May he inspire us all to appreciate the gift of life and live a life of kindness and connection to Hashem, the Torah and the Rebbe and Chassidus. Let’s all take a minute to help another Yud and add in Torah Tefila and Tzedaka l’ilui nishmoso. Ad mosai? Ad mosai? Ad mosai? Moshiach NOW NOW NOW.
…Other than Moshiach coming now!
Crying with you
BD”E. May Levi’s neshama have the HIGHEST ALIYAH, may his family be comforted, & may they be reunited speedily, with the IMMEDIATE arrival of Moshiach Tzedkeinu b’korov MAMMOSH!!!❤

Heartbreaking!! Ad mosai!!!!
As a classmate of mine from pre school through grade eight I spent a lot of time around Levi. Unfortunately I didn’t get to know him well enough but one thing I will always remember when I think of him is the way he was devoted to whatever he was busy with. When we learnt a Gemara in class and he didn’t understand it he would be frustrated and wouldn’t leave class (even during the break) until he knew it. I will miss you very much Levi
To Levi’s family,
I’m so sorry you need to know such pain, void, and tragedy.
I’m sorry you have the need and opportunity to reveal deep inner strength to move on.
May you feel and be intuned to your alignment with Hashem and feel his warm embrace walking with you every step. I guess that’s the only way to truly go on living.
We are all family, and feel so pained that you are in pain!
Hamakom Yinachem Eschem Besoch Shaar Avlei Tziyon Veyerushalayim!
