The One Crown Heights Festival this Sunday, July 21, on St. Marks Ave between Brooklyn and Kingston Avenues from 12-5pm offers a day of activities for the whole family, music, togetherness, prizes, and a free puppet show by Small Wonder Jewish Puppet Theater.
Join us for the 9th annual One Crown Heights Festival (OCH Festival), a celebration of diversity and unity in the heart of Brooklyn!
What to expect:

Free admission to Brooklyn Children’s Museum 10 am – 5 pm
Free Activities with Jewish Children’s Museum
Live music and performances by Brooklyn artists 12pm – 5pm
Learn to play Chassidic melodies

Fun street games and art activities for all ages
Free books from PJ Library
Enjoy live music on our outdoor stage featuring professional kids percussion ensemble Brooklyn United, classically-trained cellist Laura Melnicoff, griot-inspired Kakande, singer/songwriter Aaron Einhorn, and the steel pans of Tropicalfete. Inside BCM’s theater, children will be treated to an entertaining mix of music, puppetry, and storytelling presented by the Small Wonder Puppet Theater.
An important feature of the event will be the ‘Community Conversations Tent: Neighbors to Neighbors, Can We Talk,’ where local residents are invited to engage in discussions in a safe space to hear directly from their neighbors.
There will also be a basketball pick-up game 5v5 challenge by Love Hoops NY taking place on the courts in Brower Park.
Brooklyn Children’s Museum will be open from 10 am – 5 pm and will be free throughout the entire day.
Museum activities include:
Design a roller coaster car in our ColorLab art studio, inspired by artist EJ Hill
Build and test earthquake-resistant skyscrapers in our Nature’s Engineers STEM makerspace

Again, you did a great job in bringing our Communities together. It was a great idea this year to put the event in front of the museum although you had the puppet show, full house inside in the auditorium and the basketball outside. Thank you also for the kosher food which we don’t usually have at the BCM. Lots of families and community members had a great time as well as members of the African American and Caribbean American members of our community.
