This week, Project Likkutei Sichos enters its seventh year. What began as a personal hachlata in honor of the Rebbe’s 70th year, quickly grew to 770 participants, then expanded to 7,770, and has since evolved into a worldwide movement.
Across Chabad communities, more and more people are taking part in the project’s structured learning of Likkutei Sichos. Many say the impact has been real, even if it wasn’t something they expected when they started.
“I only joined because a friend pushed me,” one participant said. “I wasn’t looking for anything new. I just figured I’d try it for a few weeks.”
At the beginning, the learning wasn’t easy. “Likkutei Sichos makes you think. You can’t really half-listen.” But over time, that became part of the appeal. “I started thinking about the sicha during the week, bringing it up at the Shabbos table, and actually looking forward to the shiur.”
Others noticed changes in day-to-day life. “I became more comfortable encouraging another Yid to put on tefillin. I started learning Rambam more consistently. Even the Shabbos table feels different. We’re all talking about it.”
Many point to how relevant the learning feels. “Questions come up about life, family, priorities, pressure — and then you see the Rebbe already spoke about this — “there is a sicha on it”
Project Likkutei Sichos is built around learning two Sichos each week, properly and in depth, with a focus on bringing the Rebbe’s teachings into real life. While the Rebbe spent decades developing these Sichos, only in recent years has there been a coordinated effort to learn them al ha-seder, with clear explanations, shiurim, podcasts, and practical takeaways.
Today, tens of thousands of people are learning through the project, and the site has become a growing collection of the Rebbe’s Torah.
כל השביעין חביבין – Anyone familiar with Bosi L’gani understands the uniqueness of the number Seven. As we start this Seventh cycle, it is a great time to join the learning, support the project, or both.
