Businessmen Yossi Popack and Rabbi Dovid Fisher, who own property in Crown Heights, provided free lodging for guests who came in to New York for Gimmel Tammuz.
Over 150 bochurim from Chabad Yeshivos around the world had a bed waiting for them at two large basements in buildings owned by Popack and Fisher.
Vaad Hatmimim, a central organization coordinating extra curricular activities in Yeshivos, arranged for the hospitality for guests who arrived for the Rebbe’s 16th yahrzeit.
“Gimmel Tammuz is a time we all want to be by the Rebbe,” said Shmulik Reinitz of the Vaad.
“For a bochur’s Ruchniyos to be as it should, his Gashmiyus must be taken care of. It’s important that every bochur know he has where to stay.”
Other Crown Heights residents were instrumental in organizing the Hachnosas Orchim. The Vaad thanked Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Mendel Levin, Shneur Minsky , Mendy Fisher and Zalmy Fisher for the time and effort invested in putting the project together.
A source in the Vaad told COLlive.com they are considering repeating this successful project during the Tishrei month of 5771.

if in fact the rabbonim did take off the siruv, let them write a letter to the publik to let evryone know. many poeple have a problem to accept him just because of the HALOCHO, not because they had/have any personal issues with him. there are HALOCHOS about somone that has a siruv against him, regardless of all the maasim tovim he does, yes if he did teshuva, so aderabba lets hear this from the rabbanim and sholom al yisroel

on fisher there is a letter from the rabonim marlow, osdaba and heler stating that he us un CHEREM! not a siruv a CHEREM!
none of the rabonim ever took off the cherem!
no standing un his dalaed amos no particpating for a minyan etc.
even if u might be right:
the rebbe NEVER spoke anything bad about any yid,
about dovid fisher the rebbe said by a fabrengen IN PUBLIC that he is worse the SHOLOSH KLIPOS HATMEOS!

to all those people who have an issues with Rabbi DOVID FISHER. excuse me, dovid fisher is helping many ,many families out there.. he is a good man., he made peace with the current rabonim, they took off the siruv on him..STOP FIGHTING OTHER PEOPLES BATTLES… he unlike others has yidden living in his buildings.
I welcome any good thing in our community from any one. Rabbi fisher is absolute not worse than JB Spilman and others that went openly against rabbi Osdeba, not 20 years ago but last year, he is not worse than Poltrak and Chanhne that went to court last year against Rabbi Osdeba and the other Rabbis, and still by that moment did not withdrew. Before Gimel Tammuz nobody would have mentioned the name fisher anyware, it just shows how low we have fallen. as long as he does not liston to the Rabbonim he is an outcast. may he do Teshuvoh and then we will respect him for the good he has done but until then he was the one who laughed from rebbe and did not liston to the rebbe, as the Rebbe has told the people who on his behalf the Rebbeb said “THAT HE SHOULD LISTON TO THE RABBONIM”
