if you were referring to the previous comment…the person was describing feelings that were expressed at the time, barely three months after the Six Day War. (there was not yet a “nice plaza out front” only broken rocks.). Please….sarcasm will not bring the Geulah. There were mixed feelings, elation, grief over the loss of life, and hope… If you read on you will see that is precisely what was said… Geulah is yet to come.
hashems house is in ruins, depsite the nice plaza out front.
To mourn?….. to celebrate? It was so exhilaratng. People flocked to the Kotel. I met a young woman who said “I don’t know what I am doing here, I just know I had to be here”….the Pintele Yid…… Then, some time later, at Shaar Yaffo, I was handed a card with Shem Hashem, I thought it was a Tefila, till I realized this was a missionary (possibly Jewish r”l ) and then it hit me…this is Churban, we are still waiting. Yes, there was-and is- so much to be grateful for, but the Geulah Shelemah is yet to come.
