what year is this photo from? 1949?
believe it or not there are good Jews out there who mean well. Those children are actually collecting tzedakka for the sake of helping other yidden, and even if they are doing it for a prize- didn’t the Alter Rebbe say to give children sweets to keep them up for the seder? if that’s not a bribe for chinuch, what is? furthermore, ppl who cause others to give tzedakka (these ‘meshulachim’) have a greater mitzva than those doing the mitzvah.
….you sound like such a snag.
Meshulachim in training! Practicing to be shnorers! What is so beautiful seeing children act like despised meshulachim? How much of a “cut”do they get to keep, or are they doing it for “prizes”? One thing for sure, they aren’t doing it for the mitzva of tzedaka!
Wonderful to see such delightful children collecting tzedakah, what a breath of fresh air and nachas in the midst of criminal activity and r”l, tragedies befalling our people of late.
