anyone with questions- why let amoleik in on the day of purim???
Isn’t Mishloach Monos one of the MITZVOS of Purim? And from the “hester” and “Ad D’Lo Yada” of Purim to the clarity and answered questions of Pesach…… At the seder we pour a cup of wine for Kos Shel Eliyahu, and although there are different opinions as to why this MINHAG is practiced, one of the mentioned reasons is that it is done in our anticipation and belief that Eliyahu HaNavi will come at any moment to herald Moshiach’s arrival – thus a cup is prepared for him. Is it a Minhag? If it is, is there a makor? Not sure what a chassidishe Minhag has to do with politics.
The question is, point by point:
is this an established Minhag?
if so, what is the Minhag?
If not, is it ok?
Should one ask their mashpia?
Does a rov need to be consulted?
Are there any halochik issues?
How does this demonstrate hiskashrus?
What, l’poel, happens to the matono?
Will it be thrown out (Baal tashchis)?
Will it be given away to aniyim?
Does the oni need to put on a gartel before eating?
Where is our true Emunah in the perpetually repeated words and message of “Moshiach NOW!”? After all the years and tears the Rebbe cried, and after he explained that if before Tefilas Mincha (the shortest prayer of the three), Moshiach was not here, and when you come out after Mincha if he still has not yet arrived the question must be – “HaYitochein??” i.e.- “Is it at all conceivable that he still is not here after the length of time it took to daven Mincha???” – why then would there ever be a question by anyone if to leave Mishloach… Read more »
As a none mishechist I think this is very warming. At first I thought some newbee to CH had the wrong address but then I saw commenter number one turned (or beloves it’s) political. Either way, if political then sure….extreme if he “mamish means” it, but the inyan is beautiful. I love seeing the rebbe’s house. It had such a can’t put your finger on it kinda special amazingness. I think it connects us to the rebbe on a different maybe personal level. I wish I could just hang out on the steps (wouldn’t be appropriate). I have a picture… Read more »
