Zev Gajer, the IDF soldier who was injured last week in a car accident in Israel, is now breathing on his own but is still connected to a respirator, COLlive was told.
“(He) is going in and out of his coma in ICU,” a member of the family notified. “This is due to the fact that the doctors stopped giving him sedative medication.”
Gajer has a fractured skull among other serious injuries from a road accident between an Egged bus and a truck on Route 6 on Wednesday. The person next to him was killed and 15 others were injured.
His parents, R’ Yosef and Cochava Gajer of Crown Heights flew out on Wednesday with the help of the Israeli consulate in New York.
Knowing their son is a volunteer soldier, Israel took care of the necessary arrangements for them to fly on the first flight to Tel Aviv from New York.
In Israel, the IDF waited for them in the airport and booked them a hotel near the hospital.
The family asks that Tehillim and prayers continue to be said for Zev Ben Cochava for a full recovery.
We just spoke to the dad, Zeev is talking and moving his limbs, he has a long way to go so keep praying.
