A crowd of women and girls filled the Oholei Torah ballroom in Crown Heights for an evening to celebrate Rosh Chodesh Kislev on Monday.
Organized by Nshei Ubnos Chabad of Crown Heights, it celebrated the day the Rebbe returned home after suffering a heart attack in 1977.
“The Joy of Our Rebbe Coming Home” was the title of the evening, which focused on unity, inspiration and joy. It was emceed by Shlucha Zeldi Richter of Chabad of Howard Beach in Queens, NY.
Connecting to the theme of returning home was the speech by Mrs. Lea Kustiner of Nshei Chabad Chicago. She is a close friend of Judith and Nathalie Raanan, the two hostages who were taken as hostages by Hamas terrorists during the Simchas Torah attack.
The mother and daughter have been since miraculously released from captivity. Kustiner shared details of their ordeal, together with the hope that the rest of the hostages will be released soon as well and without harm.
The Guest speaker of the evening was Mrs. Chana Nemni of Crown Heights, and the evening included davening and singing for the immediate coming of Moshiach and true peace in the world.
