The festival of lights is getting a whole lot brighter with hundreds of Chabad Shluchim stocking up on the latest Chanukah trend: Shining Menorah Necklaces.
The red and blue battery powered 2 inch Rambam-shaped Menorahs were conceived and produced last year by ShluchimServices.com, a Crown Heights based business.
Chabad of Tampa ordered 400 pieces for their Chanukah stadium night last year. Rabbi Mendy Dubrawski said it was “pirsumei nissa” at its best with the crowd lighting up in the dark.
The pieces are extremely popular among youngsters. Hebrew school students proudly wear them as a trendy item and college students are wearing it to express their love for Chabad and Judaism.
Rabbi Zalman Bluming of Chabad of Chapel Hills in North Carolina said he needed to order more last year. “The students were going crazy over them and I needed more overnight. But they were sold out,” he said. “After much begging and searching, they found one box for me – just like the Chanukah story…”
Chabad Houses are using them as giveaways for participants attending their Chanukah parties and Menorah lighting, as well as a gift for Hebrew school students and Friendship Circle children and volunteers.
There’s not a doubt that they are a major hit,” Rabbi Moishy Bleich of Wellesley Hills, MA, sums it up.

So, so, so, adorable!
I saw it a year earlier at Chabad of Quad Cities, IA.
They produced and had it for their chabad and others chabad in the area, as a gift.
Glad it went national a year later, with this company picking up on the idea.
Thanks! Keep it up!
