Chabad of Richmond, British Columbia, has welcomed new shluchim, Rabbi Menachem and Esther Miriam Wolf (née Golomb), who have joined the Chabad House to further expand Jewish life in the community. Located just south of Vancouver, Richmond is a welcoming coastal city known for its diversity, family-friendly neighborhoods, and strong sense of community.
The Wolfs are working alongside Rabbi Yechiel and Chanie Baitelman, founders of Chabad of Richmond, who have led the community for the past 25 years. Their shlichus focuses on engaging young families and young professionals by providing warm, welcoming Jewish spaces for connection, learning, and Jewish pride.
Rabbi Wolf hails originally from Melbourne, Australia, while Esther Miriam grew up in Sheffield, England, where her parents serve as Chabad shluchim.
The Wolfs have already been leading Shabbat meals, weekly classes, and holiday programs geared toward young adults and families. For young families, they have organized hands-on community events, including a highly successful Dreidel Workshop held at a local Home Depot that attracted many families.
In addition, the Wolfs are leading CTeen Richmond with bi-monthly events that foster Jewish pride and connection among local teens. Alongside the social events, Rabbi Wolf leads a CteenU course, studying with teens weekly. The Wolfs also lead Hebrew School, guiding children as they learn the Alef-Bet, Jewish holidays, and core Jewish values.
Among Chabad of Richmond’s many initiatives is the Light of Shabbat program, which brings the warmth and spirit of Shabbat into Jewish homes throughout the area.
To help launch this new shlichus, Rabbi Menachem and Esther Miriam Wolf have launched a Kickstarter campaign. Please contribute generously and help support young professionals looking for connection, teens seeking a place of Jewish pride, children learning their first Alef-Bet, and seniors receiving vital food packages and care.
