Rabbi Mendel and Chaya Lipskier are opening a new Chabad House at Oxford College of Emory University.
Nestled in the serene, historic town of Oxford, Georgia, just 35 miles east of Atlanta, the quaint campus of Oxford College of Emory University is surrounded by tree lined streets and homey neighborhoods. With its tight knit community of ambitious students, Oxford provides the perfect backdrop for a warm, welcoming Jewish home on campus.
Opening a Chabad Center here brings the light of Torah, Shabbat dinners, holiday celebrations, and vibrant community to hundreds of Jewish students who often feel far from the Jewish resources available on Emory’s main campus.
The need is clear, many students arrive at Oxford College eager to explore and deepen their Jewish identity, yet currently lack a Chabad presence that offers the signature Chabad warmth that has transformed Jewish life on campuses nationwide.
Best of all, an incredible space has just become available literally steps from the heart of campus. This amazing opportunity to establish a permanent, visible Jewish hub where every student, regardless of background or affiliation, can walk in, feel at home, and discover the joy of Yiddishkeit right in the heart of Oxford, Georgia.
