Crown Heights mom and fitness instructor Golda Reichman has had a passion for fitness since a young teenager, and now she has turned that into a business.
The personal trainer and fitness teacher has opened a state of the art boutique to sell mens, womens, maternity and plus size activewear that she calls “a fitness enthusiasts’ dream.”
“As a young teenager looking for a healthy after school activity I joined an all women’s kickboxing class in my hometown of Detroit, MI,” Reichman says. “I gained strength and confidence and soon I was going a few evenings a week trying out a variety of workouts. I found it to be an amazing outlet and physical fitness has been a huge part of my life ever since,” she says.
“When I began working with women in Crown Heights, I soon saw how huge the demand was for women who needed to get personal attention, as to address their specific health concerns and workout needs,” she says. “Especially after having my first few children and seeing the demands pregnancy and childbirth put on my body, I pledged to find a way to help other women regain their strength and energy.”
And so the idea of The StreetLite Company was born.
Her classes are tailor made for any age, with the input of her father, a physician with 35 years of experience, so as to be sure of safety and medical limitations.
“Our center is a place where a certified trainer is on hand to consult with, who could talk over your fitness needs and goals with you. As well as guide you to making informed purchases based on each customer individually,” Reichman says.
Reichman has also designed her own fitnesswear collection – Athleisure – which can be worn comfortably all day, transitioning from active wear to social wear.
“I saw many women trying to exercise in ill fitting, non-supportive clothing, socks and shoes,” Reichman says. “The workout I provided also needed specific gear and equipment, none of which was sold in Crown Heights. This presented a problem as I wanted them to learn the workout and do ‘homework,’ so each woman needed her own set.”
The StreetLite boutique offers personal trainers at the start and end of each day. Each class will be kept small and personal. As they grow they plan to include classes for men, women, seniors and children/teens.

This store is just what crown heights needed!! So excited to see what they have!
Isn’t there a sports shop down the block??
now if only someone would open a womans gym 🙂
Hatzlacha rabba!
It would also be nice to have an “outdoor” swimming pool open by night and day. This pool would be open on the roof and would have a glass/plastic dome over the top for the winter!
Hope this new venture brings success!! Good luck 🙂
I’m so happy for you! This store rocks!
