In honor of Yud Aleph Nissan, music producer Moishy Goldstein of Music Studio NYC released a beautiful song titled “A Father So Dear.” The song captures the deep longing to reunite with our Father in Yerushalayim. Its English lyrics are based on the classic Yiddish song “Tatenyu” by Avraham Fried, set to the soul-stirring Chabad tune “Yaaleh Tachanuneinu.”

Lyrics:
A father so dear, trusted and near
With no end at all, to your love and care
The Ba’al Shem Tov taught, how You see each Yid
As an only child, your dear Ben Yochid
Together we all sat as one so close to your throne,
Now banished into Golus darkness yearning to come home
We turn to you, Tatteh, with tears in our eyes.
אבינו אב הרחמן רחם עלינו,
Your Ben Yochid yearns for you, Gevald, Tatenyu!
Oh how precious, oh how pure, the closeness back then
How we long to see you again.
ותחזינה עינינו
Our eyes will see
The crown proudly worn by Moshiach our king
We never lose faith, we continue to pray
Bring us Moshiach right away.
And very soon in the Beis Hamikdash, gathered all as one
Shabbos, Yom Tov and Rosh Chodesh every Yid will come
The whole world will serve You, Your presence we’ll feel
אבינו…
With love, you will lead every Yid by the hand,
With miracles, you will return him to our holy land,
All together with our Father, no one left behind.
United together, now and forever, spirits rising high
With brotherly love in Yerushalayim, Am Yisroel Chai
The whole world will then know that Ein Oid Milvadoi.
Made me cry, and feel a desire for Moshiach that I haven’t felt in a while.
