Oholei Torah’s Board of Directors have announced that a new division of the Beis Medrash will, iy”h be opening for the upcoming year. The focus is to better accommodate and give personalized attention to the younger talmidim of Shiur alef and beis. Shiur gimmel and daled will continue under the current hanhola and both divisions will continue in the Raitport Beis Medrash on the Eastern Parkway campus.
As it has been successfully proven in the elementary department which now boasts four divisions, each with a menahel and a vice principal. The Beis Medrash will now have two departments – one for Shiur aleph and beis, and the second for Shiur gimmel and daled
This is in response to the tremendous growth of the amount of talmidim, and the need to give each talmid individualized attention. It will allow the roshei yeshiva and mashpi’im to be able to connect and foster an atmosphere of limud Torah and chassidishekit.
Rabbi Nison Deitsch, an Oholei Torah alum, will be appointed as menahel and will oversee the new division. Rabbi Deitsch brings with him years of experience with Oholei Torah talmidim, recently being a maggid shiur in Yeshiva Kayitz Kingston where he got to know and better understand the young bochurim, as well as being a shliach in the Oholei Torah mesivta.
“This is another breakthrough in our mosad as we are consistently growing and re-evaluating the needs and demands of the current situation,” said Rabbi Joseph Rosenfeld, Executive Director, on behalf of the board. “Our goal is to give the utmost to our talmidim, to nurture these young bochrim as they enter their years in beis medrash”

I had an amazing experience in shiur alef and beis oholei torah, there were some truly amazing teachers and a very special group of buchrim.
I am interested in knowing if the new menahel is planing any changes, and if there will be any changes to the staff.
Thank you oholei torah for the great chinuch and may you have much hatzlacha for many years.

I hear reb yoel donin is the dorm counselor for the shiur-aleph and beis bochrim. Very dedicated and hard working and cares for the bochrims gashmius as well…nothing will leave his site 🙂
It’s so nice that o.t. is bringing in new, young blood. and Nisson is a great choice! may the whole yeshiva go from chayil el choyel!
The issue is younger Zal Bochurim being around Crown Heights at night UNTIL they need to be in the dorm. While obvious that many other Yeshivos may not have the best night Hashgacha, but being in CH might be more Hefker than other cities
Rabbi Nissy Deitsch, May you go from strength to strength!
Regards.

I’m sure Rabbi Deitsch will be a most wonderful asset to the school.
I was in Shiur Beis this year and there was full time Dorm Counselors who slept in our apartment with full supervision. Don’t be deluded in thinking that out of town dormitories are so well supervised.
This is such good news B”H!
With all respect to the current hanhala, here is a crying need for such menahelim in Shiur Gimmel-Daled as well. Plenty of those bochurim can use a very tuned in person for Chassidishe hadracha at a time when they’re still grappling with deep questions. They’re facing peer pressure, including from “holier” bochurim who make fun of them for questioning.
is that Nison Deitsch is a pure Oholei Torah product, in the optimal way, and now he will give back to Oholei Torah in the optimal way, too
For this to work, the new division will need its own beis midrash..
right now they are dwarfed by the older bachurim
Very nice! I know Nissy and I wish he was there when I was in Shiur Aleph and Bais just a few years ago.. There is what to improve. To get a Menhael which willl be focused on them is a very good first step towards making it a succesful program.. Rabbi Heller is an awesome Maggid Shiur that actually teaches you how to learn. Its in Crown Heights so I don’t know if too many bochurim would wanna come (which I believe is the reason Shiur Aleph and Bais are usually small) but with a talented guy focused on… Read more »
Rabbi Deitsch is a gift to this school
To have younger out of town Zal Bochurim (16-18 years old) being in Crown Heights without real night/dorm supervision?
Nissy is an awesome guy!
This is an unbelievable change and asset for oholei Torah, so happy for the talmidim and yeshiva in general. Rabbi Deitsch, may you be matzliach with the rebbes brochos in the avodas hakodesh!
OHOLEI TORAH IS THE BEST!
I think there is a lack of options for zal now o.t. will come on to the table as a possibility for shiur alef or beis and not just shiur daled much hatzlocho!!!
